Paramount Pictures has finally released the very first trailer for “Gladiator II,” the sequel to the 2000 classic “Gladiator.” The sequel follows Lucius, a former heir to the Roman Empire, who becomes a gladiator after his home is invaded by general Marcus Acacius under the rule of the emperors Caracalla and Geta.
The film is directed by Ridley Scott, who also directed the original, and written by David Scarpa (“Napoleon”). The cast includes Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi.
