Sweden’s government is reported for failing to meet the EU’s climate goals.
The government has pursued a policy that is hostile to the climate, it is not acceptable, says Kristina Östman of the Nature Conservation Association, to SVT.
In addition to the Nature Conservation Society, the Environmental Lawyers are also behind the notification to the EU Commission.
The criticism consists, among other things, of Sweden missing several climate targets until 2030. Including too large emissions, too low a share of renewable energy, too little absorption of carbon dioxide in the forest.
