The theory of the double murder: The dead people in the car may be Britons who have been reported missing

Two people were found dead in a burned-out Danish rental car in Fosie in Malmö on Sunday, and the Swedish police have appointed a special investigation team. Now there is much evidence that the victims may be two British men who were reported missing on Monday. According to British police, Interpol is involved in the case.

The two people who were found dead in a burned-out car in Malmö on Sunday may be two Britons who were recently reported missing. The dead are still not identified.

Cooperates with Interpol

British police tell TT that they are still in contact with the police in Sweden and with Interpol to find out if the British men were the ones in the burned-out car.

The British Foreign Ministry writes in a comment to TT that they are in contact with the Swedish authorities and that they are supporting the families of the missing men.

“We are in continued contact with the Swedish police and Interpol to determine whether the two dead men in Malmö are related to the two men who were reported missing in north London on July 15,” writes the Metropolitan Police in an email to TT.

According to information to Sydsvenskan, three people must have been in the car when it traveled over the Öresund Bridge.

Appointed special investigation group

The car was impounded and the police have appointed a special group of analysts and investigators. During Wednesday, the police are still waiting for answers from the forensic examination.

“The whole thing is made more difficult by the fact that it was a fierce fire”, says Kerstin Gossé, press spokesperson at the Malmö police.

The police: The deceased are not Danes

The police have previously stated that the car was Danish registered, but that the deceased are not Danish.

Swedish police cannot confirm that the victims are the two Britons who are missing.

“We can neither confirm nor deny it”, says Kerstin Gossé.

Asking for observations

The police are investigating the incident as a homicide, although the cause of death has not yet been determined. On Tuesday, they went out and asked for help from the public regarding the car that burned.

The police want to collect any observations that the public may have made of the car and the scene between 11:30 and 14:00 on Sunday.
