Astra Zeneca’s China manager has been arrested by the police. This is confirmed by the pharmaceutical giant’s press department for SVT. The company has previously said that it is cooperating with Chinese authorities in an investigation that deals with, among other things, the illegal collection of data.

We found out about the ongoing investigation last week, says Freja Annamatz, who is head of communications at Astra Zeneca.
The company has previously announced that it will cooperate with the Chinese authorities regarding the investigation of their China manager. It is already known that the local authorities in China are investigating whether Astra Zeneca, among other things, illegally collected data and engaged in unauthorized drug imports.
Several arrested earlier
On September 5, Bloomberg News reported that five other employees of Astra Zeneca were arrested by Chinese police. The company does not want to answer the question of whether there are any Swedish citizens among the employees who have been arrested
According to sources, the police are investigating the role of those arrested in importing illegal cancer drugs into China.
