It is high summer heat in large parts of the country. As early as Thursday, it may be time to pull out the deck chair.
It is not impossible that the temperatures will reach 26 to 27 degrees, says SVT’s meteorologist Emma Härenstam.
During Thursday and Friday, temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees are expected. It is expected to be the warmest in the southeast, from Gävleborg County and over the eastern parts of Svealand and Götaland.
It is not impossible that the temperatures will reach 26-27 degrees along the east coast of Svealand and Götaland, says SVT’s meteorologist Emma Härenstam.
Yellow warning: Torrential rain
In connection with the heat setting in, however, there may be rain showers in places.
It is an extensive area of rain from the southwest that will affect the entire country during Wednesday and Thursday, moving north, says Emma Härenstam.
During Wednesday, SMHI also issued yellow warnings about torrential rain in large parts of Götaland and southwestern Värmland.
The warning applies on Wednesday from 12 noon to 11 p.m. 40-60 millimeters of rain can occur for a short time with thunder and also strong gusts of wind. SMHI warns that traffic in the areas may be affected.
It can be 25 degrees in parts of Norrland
During Saturday, slightly cooler weather is expected in Götaland, while in places in Svealand there may be temperatures of 26-27 degrees.
On Sunday, instead, the highest temperatures are expected in Norrland’s coastal region.
There is a low pressure in the hooks that can keep the temperature down in the south. It could be 25 degrees all the way up to Norrbotten, says Emma Härenstam.
There is also a good chance that the high summer heat will linger over the next week.
However, the forecast is uncertain because it is cooler air in the Atlantic that is pushing in from the west.
