During the night of Wednesday, the police were alerted to a shooting in Åkersberga north of Stockholm.
One person has been taken to hospital.
The alarm came in to the police at 01:18 that a man had been shot indoors, according to the police.
The man, who is aged 35, was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter. He must have been awake and talkative.
He was conscious. We had a patrol that applied first aid until the helicopter took him to hospital, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at Police Region Stockholm.
After the shooting, the perpetrator or persons must have disappeared from the scene. The police are searching with a helicopter.
The police have secured leads, but do not go into details about what for some.
The incident is classified as attempted murder.
Second shooting in two hours
About two hours earlier, the police were alerted to southern Stockholm, where a young man was shot in Bagarmossen.
Police see no connection between the two shootings.
