Another operation is underway at Kungsholmen. It is Saturday’s second, after a previous intervention regarding burglary with acid. The incidents have taken place in the same residential area, according to information to SVT. Police, emergency services and an ambulance are on the scene.
The police were called to Kungsholmen at 02.43 on the night of Saturday after a neighbor called the police about a burglary in progress.
– Two apartments have been broken into and people have tried to break into a third, when the police are there they feel that there is a bad smell in the stairwell, so we call the emergency services to make an assessment, says Tomas Idstedt, officer on duty at the police .
The police have cordoned off the two apartments, but the previous cordons around the apartment building have now been removed.
New alarm in the same area
Around 10 o’clock on Saturday, the police received a new alarm about a burglary in the same residential area. Once on site, it was established that acid had also been used in this case. Both ambulance, rescue service and healthcare management participate in the operation, which is ongoing at a residential building on Hornsberg’s beach.
According to the police, it is possibly four apartments that the perpetrators are said to have tried to enter.
– I don’t know if they managed to get in or just tried, says police spokesperson Susanna Rinaldo.
Neither the police nor the emergency services can comment on what kind of substance is suspected to have been found, but the police confirm that it is some type of strong acid. There is currently no information on personal injuries or anyone arrested in any of the cases. The police have drawn up reports of support through burglary in both cases.
