Sébastien Boudet’s criticism: Ashamed to drive around in my Tesla

TV baker Sébastien Boudet is ashamed of his Tesla.

In a post on Instagram, he directs sharp criticism at Elon Musk, the man behind the electric car company.

Elon Musk has gone from being a visionary to a ‘madman’

Elon Musk’s company Tesla has grown at rocket speed and the billionaire’s electric cars are on the roads in the majority of the world’s countries. Six years ago, pastry chef Sébastien Boudet, who has appeared on TV many times, bought his Tesla in the hope of contributing to a sustainable future.

Today he is disappointed, which he writes about on Instagram.

“Elon Musk has gone from being a visionary to a ‘madman’ with ideas about colonizing Mars,” writes Boudet.

He also mentions the Trump friend’s dream of an AI-powered world and his “war on transgender people and abortion”.

“It’s no longer about a car, but about what it represents,” writes the baker further.

“I’m ashamed to drive around with it”

Sébastien Boudet believes that the company previously symbolized a sustainable future without fossil fuels – now it has become a symbol of the opposite.

“Now it feels more like a shameful billboard for something that goes against what we really need,” the post continues.

Sébastien Boudet bought his electric car with a promise of a sustainable future. Today, he believes that the focus needs to shift to “real sustainable solutions for transport”. He means car pools for carpooling, public transport and stopping subsidizing companies that use fossil fuels.

“The bottom line… I’m ashamed to be driving around with this car and wearing the Tesla license plate today,” writes the TV baker.
